WhoopTee Collaboration & Giveaway

Hi all! Happy Monday, I hope you enjoyed your weekend. I have something fun to start out this week! I would like to announce that after just over a year of blogging ShyScout has reached 400 followers!!! I never dreamed that ShyScout would branch out to so many of you, but I am so glad it has. I have met so many wonderful people since I have started blogging and enjoy getting to know all of you through your blogs and comments. In order to celebrate I thought a ShyScout themed giveaway might be perfect for the occasion.

I was recently given the opportunity to collaborate with WhoopTee on a t-shirt design. For those of you unfamiliar with WhoopTee, they are a fun and new online t-shirt print shop based in St.Louis who will create your custom t-shirt designs with high quality results. I really enjoyed the creative process. I was able to come up with whatever design I liked and they worked with me to make sure the placement and sizing on the shirt was just how I pictured it. My shirt also showed up on my doorstep the very next week! Pretty awesome, right? For anyone looking to print custom shirts - whether it is for your band or bachelorette party - WhoopTee is a great option. I promise you will enjoy working with them.

Wontcha be my Valentine?

Hi all! Happy Valentine's day to each and every one of you!! While I am not necessarily in a mushy gushy mood today, I love a reason to dress up. What a better excuse to wear all red and hearts, Am I right?

Outfit Details: Dress and Cupid Pin - Thrifted, Shoes - Target, Glasses - Jason Wu.

So here is my Vday look. I thrifted this dress a while back and it was missing the middle button. Being sort of lazy I never got around to sewing on new buttons - this is where the cupid pin comes in - I thrifted the cupid pin a few months back as well specifically for Valentine's day, and viola! Instant button!! I really like this new to me look. It would be perfect on a date with a cute boy, but alas, I will be eating the chocolates my mom sent me on the couch tonight. At least I will look cute doing it ;]

Have a lovey dovey day ya'll.

Apartment therapy

Hi guys! How's it goin. Wednesday already, wahoo! The beginning of the month is always a wee bit hectic at work so I am looking forward to this week being over. Anywho, I have some fun stuff to show off today - a little sneak peak in to my new room. I just have to say that decorating is not exactly my forte. I have collected a bunch of crazy stuff over the years and it kind of just ends up on my walls and all over the place, haha. If any of you have tips please let me know! I like the white walls at the moment so I don't have too much up just yet....

I think hodge podge and a rainbow threw up a little bit best describes my interior design aesthetic. Isn't my new kit cat clock wonderful? I just put him up on the wall last night (I took the room photos the night before, but he now lives in the nook on the empty wall) and he is so much fun to watch. I could also use some curtains...my window looks directly in to our neighbors kitchen - yikes! All in all though I am starting to feel settled :]

Have a beautiful day everyone! Tonight at 6 p.m. I will be selecting the winner of my my Valentine's Day Giveaway from Maine Coon Crafts. If you haven't entered this is your last chance!! Good luck everyone.

Happy Birthday Mr.President!

Hi guys! Happy Tuesday to ya!! Do you know what today is? My favorite president OF ALL TIME's birthday - wahooo. Happy birthday Mr. Lincoln, without you the world would be a sadder place. Some people were put on this earth for very special things and he was one of them. In celebration of him I thought it would be fun to share some cool Lincoln items from around the interwebs - they would all make an awesome addition to my lead Lincoln head and Lincoln chia pet, tehehe.

Life Lately

Hi all! I hope you had a wonderful weekend. Mine was spent with old and new friends exploring the city. I am so glad to call Chicago home. There is constantly something new to do and I am finding that I don't have as much down time as I imagined, I am not complaining though. I did not end up trying out as an extra Saturday morning for Divergent - I was too nervous and sleepy, whoops. I did have some friends from school come to visit though that night. My friend Billy commented, "you're life is just like Sex in the City now", hahaha, kinda not really...

Here are a few shots from the past week/weekend. That awesome view is what I look out at while waiting for the bus in the morning. Aaaand Abrahammy received a lot of attention this weekend with all of the visitors. This week I plan to share a little more about the little man and how to take care of a prickly little pal :]

Have a great day everyone!

A Year of Style - 2012

Hi guys. How is your week going? My first week living in the city has been pretty good. Monday I figured out how to take the bus, haha, there is an app thankfully for that which I figured out after having missed the first bus. Monday night I was also able to catch up with an old friend who was moving back to Scotland the next day. It was so good to see him. Tuesday I started catching up in the blog world - I missed you all! It is soooo nice to go from a 2 hour commute to a 5 minute one. Tomorrow night I am headed to a friend of a friends album release show and am pretty excited about it. This weekend is also full of fun plans - trying out as an extra for a movie, house party, aaaand hopefully finishing decorating my room.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Anywho... since my world was put on hold for a moment at the end of the year I never got to do the fun end of year posts everyone else seemed to do. I am now playing catch up for lost time. I thought it might be fun to look back at my favorite outfits of last year. Last year I started this blog not entirely sure where I wanted to go with it, but I am happy with whatever it has transformed in to. I learned a lot the past year when it comes to blogging. Routine posts = good, long absences and forgetting to check email = bad. ShyScout is still a work in progress as am I. I would never say I am a fashion expert, heck, I wouldn't even say I am stylish most days - but I try. Documenting my outfits the past year was fun and helped me feel more comfortable and confident in myself and what I wear.

yearofstyle

Last year was all about dresses from the looks of it. I also embraced my waves. I swear, if you met me two years ago I would have been in blue jeans every day with a pin straight bob. At lot can change in a year. I look forward to seeing what this year brings.

Have a lovely day everyone! Also, did you enter my Valentine's Day Giveaway from Maine Coon Crafts? If not you should enter now before it is too late! The contest is open until next Wednesday the 13th.
