For those of you who haven't heard, Davy Jones of the Monkees died today at 66. It is sad to think he isn't here any more singing his heart out. While I never got to see the Monkees perform together I saw Davy play a few years back and it was wonderful. He also wished me a great first day of college over the radio when my mom called in on my way to move in. *Sighhh. I have had the biggest crush on him since elementary school. Let's all remember him with this video (my personal favorite song of theirs), Day Dream Believer.
Oh my gosh, whaa?? I didn't hear about this. :( I always remember that awesome cameo he had in the Brady Bunch Movie. Great song pick. Such a classic feel good song. I listened to it and said my little goodbye to him.
I heard about it over the radio and it broke my heart. That cameo was so sweet, I love that song. I wish he would have sung it to me *sighhh. I think I am going to make a day of listening to the Monkees.
*Sighhh. They say they go in threes? I always thought that was a weird saying...I am sure if you wait long enough it is bound to happen. I was more devastated about this than by Whitney - ooooonly because I was/still am OBSESSED with The Monkees.
How sad, anytime I think of Davy Jones or The Monkees I think about Marcia Brady and her obsession with him, which is odd because I saw two Marcia Brady costumes over the last week. He will be missed!

DeleteI spent my childhood watching and listening to The Monkees and I'm totally gutted -- so young. It just seems so wrong!
ReplyDeleteI know! As soon as I heard I was so sad knowing that he wasn't in the world any more. I still picture him as his young self on their TV show.
DeleteHe's too young for this. So sad….. :( What is it with all the young celebs passing away these days?!?
