To continue with my
Most wanted Mondays - birds of a feather post I thought it would be only fitting to highlight a few of my owl/bird thrifted finds. These are only a few pieces of the collection - I need to keep some surprises for other Thrifted Thursday posts ;)
Ceramic owls - I bought each on separate occasions, but was lucky enough to find my owl lanterns small twin. The groovy owl with big eyes is my favorite. It looks to pretty with a candle inside of it, it casts little rays of light all across the room. Urban Outfitters had something pretty similar to this awhile back but it was only one color. I bought each for less than $1 :]
Floral Shelving - The shelving unit holding my owls is from a garage sale. My mom picked it up years ago and has sat in our garage ever since. Last year I decided to salvage it. I really love the coloring of it and the pretty floral details on each side. It is pretty old and worn but I think that adds to its charm.
Metal peacock pair - Freshman year of college a friend of mine had a beautiful golden pair of these peacocks on her wall. I had always loved them and as luck would have it I found them a year later in a Florida thrift shop. Side note - Florida has the best thrift shops by far! Anywho, so I scooped them up as soon as I saw them. I love the blue, green, and gold combo.
Have any of you thrifted anything neat this week? Please share! Hope you all have a lovely Thursday.
Awesome finds! That's so cool that you found yourself some peacocks like you wanted. I love when that happens.
ReplyDeleteMe too! I thought that the ones my friend had were one of a kind but luckily they weren't. Score! :]
Deleteahh, I love everything! The two in the first photo are my favorites. Such good finds.

The big owl of the two is my favorite but I am glad I found his little buddy.
DeleteWow so many great finds! I love your owls so so much. And those wall peacocks are super cool too. I need to start looking at stuff for the apartment instead of just clothes when I go thrifting.
ReplyDeleteI went on an apartment thrifting rampage a few years back for my first apartment. You can find some pretty cute stuff. I am back to mainly clothes now though.
DeleteThese are amazing. I am hoping to find some owl goodies when I go. SO JEALOUS!
ReplyDeleteThose peacocks are soooo pretty! I LIVE in FL! My silly boyfriend refuses to go thrifting with me though :( Grrr!

Thank you. Sounds like you are finding great stuff. I haven't been out to thrift in about a week - yikes! Anything from Japan is good in my book :] I can't wait to visit in March. I would have been so excited if I stumbled upon a self full of owls. Lucky!
DeleteSeems to me that all the best thrift finds are anywhere but Socal. I am always on the hunt for Owls but never find any :(

Those owls are adorbs, but what really caught my eye was the shelf! What a beauty! I was at Marshalls tonight, trying to find something like this actually. They had a really pretty bird cage in turquoise or mint green (I can't remember which it was) and some cute shelves meant to look vintage-y.
ReplyDeleteAnd lucky you! The peacocks are gorg'!
Thank you. I am glad someone liked the shelf :] I was so glad I found it amongst the crazy piles of stuff in my garage. It was hard to take pictures of it though, being so tall - I didn't want to take up the entire blog page. I have been noticing birdcages a lot at thrift stores lately and some of them are really beautiful. I really like turquoise and mint green so I am sure it was awesome.
DeleteAwesome finds! I love the owls :)

ReplyDeleteI've never seen anything like those peacocks. They look so magical! And I agree, these colors are stunning!
Thank you. I really love the peacocks. They make quite a statement. I also feel like they have a lot going on though so I made sure to hang them alone on a wall.
DeleteHaha the OWL on the left's expression is cracking me up. He looks like someone just startled him :P
ReplyDeleteHaha. Now that you say that it makes me laugh too. He is just too cute.
DeleteThat peacock is so pretty!
ReplyDeleteThank you! I need to readjust his feathers a bit looking back at the photos - oh well.
