The majority of my things have been packed up and carted off for the move, meaning my closet at the apartment is pretty slim pickings. I am alright with that though because it forces me to try new things with pieces I may have only worn once or twice. This cream dress is one that I have only worn on one other occasion - basically because I never know what to wear with it. Thankfully I still had my moms brown boots and took it from from there. My boyfriend was also kind enough to take these photos for me :]
Like my new Betsey Johnson earrings? I won them in an incredible giveaway from Jess Buckley's blog. I am also wearing the MAC lipstick from the giveaway. I will have to show off the rest of the goods tomorrow.
I also tried adding some braids in my hair. I like the look but I only had 4 bobby pins to work with - oh the joys of moving. I wore this look out to dinner with Brian last night to celebrate his last class! He graduates on Saturday.
Outfit Details: Dress - Kimichi Blue, Urban Outfitters | Tights - Target | Boots - Thrifted/moms | Bag - thrifted | Earrings - Betsey Johnson via Jess Buckley | Bracelet - gift from my gramma.
Hope you all are having a great day!

Thank you! I never do my hair but felt like giving it a go that day. It was more simple than I thought :]
DeleteThat dress is delightful - so pretty!
ReplyDeleteyou look pretty amazing for someone who doesn't have a lot of items to work with (even for someone who does)! i love this dress on you!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much. I had thrown the majority of my closet in bags and just dealt with what I had. Thankfully I had this gem hiding in the back of my closet.
DeleteThis is a really cute dress. I seriously need to 'shop my wardrobe' more often, I only tend to pick the things that are on my mental radar, if that makes sense! xx
ReplyDeleteThank! You definitely should. I am always forgetting what I own because my closet is a hot mess. Sifting through things from time to time can shake things up a bit.
DeleteYou look super cute, if I was moving I'd probably be trying to get away with wearing pajamas and an old ratty t-shirt haha. I love the dress and those Betsey Johnson earrings are the cutest.

Thanks. Haha. I did not wear this while I was carrying out my stuff - promise. I just wore cut offs and a tee. I am so thankful to have won the earrings, they are just too cute!
DeleteYou look gorgeous! I love the colour of the dress teamed with the brown boots! xo
ReplyDeleteThank you :] I really like the color combo as well.
Deletehee kimchi blue, what an interesting brand name. do you eat kimchi? everyone says i am not korean because i don't like it hehe. you look really gorgeous here and i love the sheer tights paired with the beautiful dress, yay for ruffles! like the wall behind you too, adds some nice backdrop
ReplyDeleteHa I just looked kimichi up and that is interesting. I had no clue it was a korean dish. I wonder how they came up with the brand name...maybe they were hungry? :] Thank you. The wall was fun to take photos in front of, unfortunately I don't live there any more.
DeleteCute outfit! I'm a big fan of black and brown together :)
ReplyDelete:] Thanks. I am always nervous to mix it. I feel like my mom always told me not to pair it together. Oh well.
DeleteSuper cute earrings! I secretly like times when I'm forced to be resourceful with my outfits (moving, traveling, etc.)--it feels like a challenge and makes you appreciate things more! :)
ReplyDeleteThank you! I do too!! So often I feel like "I have nothing to wear" but I really do. I just need to dig a bit.
DeleteThis is a gorgeous outfit! The dress is super super super pretty- I want one like that too! And you styled it perfectly pretty! I'm loving your new blog design! :)

I love this dress! I don't know why you didn't know what to wear it with - you wore it perfectly here! This look is so warm and effortless. I love it with the boots and bag.The keyhole details on the back of the dress are such a nice touch, too.
ReplyDeleteAnd omg those sparrow earrings!!! They're just the icing!
Congrats on winning the giveaway! I'm tellin' you, you have thee best luck evarr!
How far is where you're moving from where you stay now?
Ha, thank you. The dress didn't come with a slip so it was pretty shear. I bought it in high school actually and hadn't worn it since. Then I bought this slip and it seemed to fill everything out and made it a wee bit easier to pair it with things.
Delete:] I can't believe I won them! Thank you. I have been pretty lucky lately. Not too sure what it is.
It is a 2 hour move. Not too bad at all. I just had a ton of junk to tote back.
just adorable. and i would have never guessed this was a 'what i had while i was moving' outfit. i HATE moving. hate it. and the clothing thing is just one in many problems - my home was in boxes for awhile, and since i moved to PA and my husband to FL all of our boxes were labels with either 'jason' or 'katherine' and it was just terrible being 3 months married and splitting all of our possessions!
ReplyDeleteanyhow, this dress is really pretty and i LOVE the back of it. such a nice detail. and the boots are adorable. and getting things you haven't worn in awhile or not a lot out is great - my blog has actually helped me do that a lot more. and your coloring really perfect for neutrals!
Thank you! I just lucked out that I had that left in the little chunk I didn't already pack up. Aw, that is so tough! But distance makes the heart grow fonder :]
DeleteThank you again! I also like blogging for that same reason. It has me trying out outfits I never would have before.
That dress looks great with boots! I also love your hair color. I've always envied red hair!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much! I need to touch it up a bit. But I do love gingers too so I have hijacked their hair color, haha.
Deletei really like that dress! the layers make it really cute :)
ReplyDeleteThank you! :]
