Wardrobe wears - bloomin' bright

Coat look familiar? *See side bar and thrifted thursdays for more details. This outfit post is sort of a cheat from my first wardrobe wednesday post since all I did was switch out coats (alright completely cheating and semi-unoriginal), but I still love the look. I feel like the bold pattern of this coat must go with solid colors so I stuck with black. It will be fun to play around with it more once the weather gets warmer. I will have more diverse outfits once I am reunited with my closet (I am currently at my mom's house and didn't pack much). Also, please excuse the tripod shadow...whoopsie!

Sweetpea wanted in on the shoot ^. Does anyone know how to take photos from flickr and make them the thumbnail that shows up for your posts? The only reason why I post mini images at the end of my posts is for that reason but I hate the way it looks. I am still a noob - please help!!

Hope you all are having a wonderful weekend!(I'm off thifting!!)

That Girl

Hi everyone! Do you remember Ann Marie (played by Marlo Thomas) in the show "That Girl" from 1966? Alright, I wasn't around when it came out but I have fallen in love with her in the reruns. Ann Marie is a girl from a small hometown who moved to the Big Apple in hopes of an acting career. In the series she works a variety of temp jobs to pay the bills. The show was unique for it's time because it showed a single woman living on her own. Ann Marie is a silly girl with incredible style. Check out the shows intro HERE.

Photocred: these photos are all from Fanpix.

Isn't she lovely? Her hair, make up, and CLOTHES - I have a style crush! I thought it would be fun to pull out some pieces that were reminiscent of Ann Marie. All of the items were pulled from ModCloth, mainly because I have been on their site looking at clothes more than I should lately.

Snow day

Chicagoland finally had it's first snow! After numerous days in the 50's, the January we are all familiar with has finally arrived. Sweetpea and I are having a lazy day under the covers watching the winter wonderland swirl around outside :]

Side note: No matter how comfy, cozy, and toasty you are in your pj's, I do not recommend shoveling the driveway in them - I instantly froze. Is it hard for anyone else to get out of their pj's some days?

Isn't she just the cutest?

Like a lot of you, I LOVE thrifting! I have been thrifting for about 6 years now - it is sort of my addiction. I love never knowing what you will find and the savings. I thought it would be fun to share with you some items I have found either that week or some favorites I have found in the past. This post is a combo of the two. The Floral coat, Ralph Lauren coat, and sweater were found earlier this week. The skirt, mug, and squirrel/nut container were found on past thrifting excursions.

Floral coat - I absolutely adore this piece. When I initially saw this coat on the rack I thought it was a bit over the top, but I had to try it on. It fit me perfectly and I fell in love. It makes quite the statement. I can't wait for it to get warmer so that I can wear it. I also have a future wardrobe post with me wearing it - so stay tuned!

Patterned sweater - I found this sweater with the floral jacket - I guess I was in a colorful mood that day. This sweater is so comfy and extra large so it goes well with jeans or leggings.

White Skirt - I found this piece awhile back. I love the squared pattern. I like to let this piece stand by itself so I typically pair it with a solid top and tights.

Ralph Lauren jacket - I lucked out completely on this one. It still had the tags on it and I bought it for $3! I had been looking for a jacket with elbow pads for awhile so when I saw it I had to snatch it up. It looks a bit large on the hanger but fits well.

Mug & Squirrel/nut container - These are just some fun finds I found in the past for home decor. I love them!

*Takes deep breath* I thought I would try an outfit post. So here goes nothing...

I had to take advantage of the last day of warm weather here in Chicago. Snow is finally on its way! Although the warm weather has been nice - and I will kick myself for saying this later, I really am looking forward to winter and it's snow storms. Winter weather - bring it on!!

I picked up this fun red coat at Urban Outfitters a week or so ago on the sale rack as well as the lace top. I paired these pieces with my black Juicy Couture dress that I have had sitting in my closet for quite some time now. The dress is a nice fit but needed to be jazzed up and I think the lace helps accomplish this. This outfit is nice for a day out and about around town.

Outfit Details: Coat - Urban Outfitters, Dress - Juicy Couture, Lace top - UO, Cameo necklace - Etsy, Tights - Target, Boots - Steve Madden.

Hope you all are having a wonderful Wednesday :]
