Ay, yi, yi!

Hi guys! It's Wednesday!! *Does a happy dance. Aaaaand even more importantly - Sweetpea is ok *jumps up and down like a mad woman. Poor pea got in to baking chocolate yesterday morning. Thankfully my mom caught her in the act and called the vet. With out grossing you out, they thought she had gotten it out of her system herself and told us to watch her. I was at work when this all went down and missed my moms frantic calls telling me to come home and take care of pea because she had to head to work. Worst drive home of my life - thankfully she was still up and moving when I got home. I have never seen her so sick and lethargic in my life though :-/ Poor thing. Around 10 last night she was able to hold down food and we knew she was out of the woods. *Phew. Sick furbabies are so sad. They can't tell you where it hurts or how bad it is. Anywho, thank you all for the kind words on IG last night. I was freaked out beyond belief.

Moving on to something a little more upbeat (not entirely sure how you smoothly transition after talking about a sick pup - forgive me)... a newly thrifted look!

I thrifted this cute basic black peter pan collar top along with the fun daisy pin a couple of weekends back at the half off sale. Score!! The skirt was thrifted ages ago. I am glad to have found a new spiffy work outfit :]

Outfit Details: Top, pin, skirt - thrifted | Shoes - DSW.

I also re-dyed my hair last weekend. Life is good with newly dyed hair. Tehehe. Alright, I am going to go. I am writing this with Pea nestled in my lap and I think she needs some more lovies and tlc. Have a beautiful day everyone! Love on your pets for me and pea :]

My New(ish) Closet

Hey guys! How's it goin? I have been missing Toy Army Tuesday and am planning on brining it back next week, wahoo! Todays post made me miss my toy collection, which sadly, half of is still packed in boxes. Moving is a pain. It always takes me ages to get settled back in. Haha. It has only been 5 months...

I did make some progress a few weeks ago though! I extended my closet :] My room's closet is teeny. I don't think it really qualifies as a closet...it is more of a dent in my wall which can hold a few coats and that is about it. I was tired of having to dig through drawers and boxes for clothes so I FINALLY bought a clothes rack - best decision ever!! It is so nice to quickly see what I own and grab what I want to wear. No longer does my wardrobe explode every time I go to get dressed. *does a happy dance. Anywho. I have seen some bloggers show off their closet so I thought it would be fun to give you a minor tour.

aDSC_0127

This would be my "closet". As you can see, it only holds coats, sweaters, Ugly Dolls, Domo babies, and a ton of purses. Not much room for anything else. Half of what I own could possibly fit in there technically, but there would no way to pull it back out.

aDSC_0116 aDSC_0134 aDSC_0112 aDSC_0138 aDSC_0137 aDSC_0147

Running low on space I decided to rearrange my room and create an entire wall to play dress up in! It is so much easier getting ready in the morning when you can see everything you own. It may not look like much, but it has been such an improvement. To any of you that lack closet space - I highly recommend purchasing a clothes rack - RIGHT NOW :] I know it is such a simple solution, unfortunately, it only took me 23 years to catch on. Haha.

Next I need to work on my shoes...

How is your closet set up? Is everything neat and orderly? Or is it complete chaos?

Jonamac's

Hi guys!! Happy October to ya. Hope you all had a good weekend :] I most definitely did!! Friday night Brian, some friends, and I saw Ty Segall and Thee Oh Sees in Logan Square. The show was realllly good, minus the extremely loud parts (I am an old woman - I need my ear plugs - I am already deaf as it is). The amps were definitely at max volume and a few times I thought my ears might burst - eeep! Other than that though, good times. We went to the early show, so later that night Brian, Andy, and I walked around Wicker Park and had some yummy pizza. Saturday was spent thrifting but I didn't come up with too many goodies unfortunately. Later that night Brian and I stayed in and got caught up on Modern Family - so good! We missed it earlier in the week because we saw End of Watch - oh em gee. That movie gave me nightmares for sure. It scares me so bad that there are so many crazy people out there who want to harm others, especially those protecting us. To all the men and women protecting our communities and nation - thank you!! Anywhoo....

Last weekend Brian and I went to Jonamac's in Malta, IL to pick some apples. It was a ton of fun. I am just now posting these photos though...whoops! Here is a little glimpse at our adventure :]

aDSC_0006 aDSC_0017 aDSC_0008

As soon as you drive 20 minutes outside of my home town you are surrounded by endless cornfields, they look prettiest this time of year. Brian and I were not alone on our adventure. Meet band-it! He is Brian's latest bud. Brian found him busted at work and decided to fix him with a band-aid - hence the name, Band-it. He is pretty darn sweet if you ask me.

aDSC_0026 aDSC_0034 aDSC_0035

Before heading to the Orchard we made a small pit stop in downtown Dekalb to check out a few thrift stores. I should have taken photos of the shops, whoopsie. The downtown area was super cute though. Check out the Egyptian theatre!! It is a combination of two of my favorite things :]

aDSC_0040 aDSC_0045 aDSC_0048

Walking to the orchard you are greeted by the cutest darn animals at the petting zoo. Baby goats, donkeys, and lambs!! My heart melts.

aDSC_0065 aDSC_0058

Great shot Bri! Hahaha.

aDSC_0068 aDSC_0085 aDSC_0095 aDSC_0091 aDSC_0102

Sorry for spamming my blog with photos. It was just such a pretty day. I am fidgeting in all of these photos. I was too nervous to sit still and take photos while others were around.

aDSC_0107 aDSC_0114

That's right ladies and gents!! They had an apple launcher and cannon - it is exactly what it sounds like too. You could shoot apples at targets!!

aDSC_0135 aDSC_0145 aDSC_0150 aDSC_0151 aDSC_0155 aDSC_0158

After apple picking we headed on over to their huuuuge corn maze. I warned Brian that we should use the map, but he didn't feel like it was necessary. Needless to say we got lost, haha. At one point we were so desperate we tried gps'ing our way out. Of course we were in the middle of nowhere though so there was no service. We did manage to find our way to a tower and were able to use the map from there *phew. It was a ton of fun. Next month their corn maze is going to be haunted - you are chased by people with chainsaws. Sounds pretty darn terrifying to me.

Anywho. Hope you all are having a good Monday :]

Bad Blogger

Hi Everyone! I hope your weekends have been full of adventure. I can't believe September has already flown by - yikes! Where did the time go?

I am here right now, posting later than usual to give you all a personal apology. I am so sorry for being a bad blogger. I am sorry for not keeping up on replying to comments and emails, keeping up on your lovely posts, and for complaining about not having any time. No one wants to hear it, I know. For that I am sorry. From here on out I am getting my butt back in to gear. I may post less, but I promise to do my absolute best to keep up on it all - no whining.

I have been slowly letting my blog slip away from me and letting you all down in the process. Sorry guys. Blogging should be light hearted and fun - I got in way over my head. I miss you all. Sorry! Take care :]

Life Lately - Fall Festivities

Hi guys!! Hope you had a beautiful weekend. I most definitely did :] I am loving the beautiful fall weather. The sunny skies and cool weather are the perfect combo. While enjoying the weather I have been a busy bee. Aside from work I have been working on side projects, thrifting, and going on adventures. Here is a mini glimpse in to what I have been up to recently.

Last week I finished re-designing Jessi from Haircut and General Attitude's blog header. It was another fun side project to work on. I loved playing with pretty type and using collage effects.

As I told you all last week - I helped shoot some new headshots for my brother. He was trying out for a new position and wanted an updated look. I really love how they turned out. This one was my personal fave.

I made my thrifting rounds again this weekend. Another half off everything sale for fall - could not resist! I will share my finds on Thursday, but as you can see...pretty darn exciting, huh? Alright...I was excited at least.

Brian and I also went Apple picking. I will post more on this outing as well later this week but here is a sneak peak! I was excited to wear my new vintage coat from last spring.

Like my new specs??? These beauties were bought from the Ditto giveaway I won on Violet's blog. They are Jason Wu and so much fun to wear! Thank you Violet!!

Anywho... this post was a sort of all over the place but I felt like I had a lot to cover. The weekends seem to fly by these days. I also worked on a Seeking Style post for My Life in Lavender coming some time this week - I will be sure to let you all know when it goes live. *Takes a deep breathe. I am also going to try to make that vlog happen Tuesday night after work. *crosses fingers.

Take care lovelies :]

Wicker Park

Hi all! I am seriously loving how fast this week is flying by :] Anywhoooooo... as I told you all yesterday - I spent Sunday roaming around the city taking new headshots of my brother and taking some of my own photos along the way. It was such a beautiful day - warm, sunny, and the sunset was oh so pretty - perfect photo taking essentials. I wanted to show my brother where I worked so we wandered around my part of town. There are so many cool shops I still need to visit, I just haven't had the free time - yet. I will be sure to share them all as soon as I do though. I have spotted so many good thrift stores on my drive to and from work.

aDSC_0753 aDSC_0744 aDSC_0752 aDSC_0732

I need to move to the city already!! The two hour (each way) commute is starting to effect my mental health. Aside from that though - Chicago is so beautiful! I can't wait until I have enough money too afford a brownstone home. Until then your typical low end city apartment will do, haha :] Going about finding a room mate is a bit scary though. Any tips?

Outfit details: Dress - Kohls | Top - gifted from gifted from a blog bestie :] | Bag - Thrifted | Pin - Great Grandma's | Shoes - Urban Outfitters.

I am really liking this new outfit. I bought the dress from Kohls for work a few weeks ago but hadn't worn it until the other day. It needed a pop of something to give it some life/ make it more me. I remembered the cute top that Roni had gifted me (thank you again!) - and viola!! It helped add a retro feel while covering my shoulders. I love finding new outfit combos that have been sitting in my closet all along - wahooo. I can't wait to wear this number to work!

Hope you all are having a great day!
